At The Dress Code Club, members experience a dynamic blend of luxury fashion and business that elevates both personal style and professional growth. As a University of Houston–based organization, the club hosts high-energy kickoff events, leadership initiatives, and industry-driven conversations that inspire creativity and ambition. From “First Look” gatherings to semester-long programming, members build confidence, expand industry exposure, and form meaningful connections that last beyond campus.
Industry Guest Speakers & Styling Workshops
The Dress Code Club hosted Joshey, stylist, model, and casting director, for impactful appearances including a hands-on styling workshop at UH. Members collaborated in teams to build complete looks, exploring color, texture, and silhouette while learning how to create luxury aesthetics on a budget. As Joshey shared, “Luxury is just a feeling. It’s not a price point.” The workshop was described by members as “so much fun,” reinforcing our commitment to experiential learning.
Luxury Brand Collaborations: GANNI
We brought global luxury directly to campus through our collaboration with GANNI. By hosting a GANNI guest speaker event centered on the business side of fashion, members gained firsthand insight into marketing, networking, and luxury retail careers. The experience gave students the opportunity to exchange LinkedIns, build meaningful professional connections, and access real industry mentorship.
Stories from the Runway ; Featuring Kalob Cowin
The Dress Code Club hosted Stories from the Runway, an exclusive conversation with internationally published model Kalob Cowin, recently featured in Forbes Colombia. Members stepped inside the world of high fashion as Kalob shared insights on resilience, creative identity, and navigating the global luxury modeling industry. His transparency about perseverance and building a personal brand offered students rare, firsthand exposure to the artistry and business behind the runway, reinforcing the club’s mission to connect aspiring fashion professionals with industry trailblazers.
Fundraising Partnership with Kendra Scott
Through a collaborative fundraising event with Kendra Scott Heights, The Dress Code Club secured proceeds to directly support future programming and member opportunities. This partnership reflects our ability to align with established brands while strengthening our community presence in Houston’s luxury retail space.
Member Success: Peter Tran; From Club Member to Paris Fashion Week
Former member Peter Tran leveraged The Dress Code Club networking opportunities to secure an internship with Glass Cypress, one of Houston’s leading luxury menswear brands. Through this role, Peter traveled to Paris Fashion Week, contributing to the brand’s global presentations and gaining international exposure in luxury fashion. His journey exemplifies how connection, mentorship, and proactive involvement within the club translate into real career milestones.
Founder Achievement: Mia Garcia: Global Fashion Production
As Founder of The Dress Code Club, Mia Garcia has transformed a campus organization into a respected luxury-focused platform that bridges students directly with the fashion industry. A University of Houston Bauer graduate in Fashion & Luxury Marketing, Mia has built partnerships with brands including GANNI, Glass Cypress, Petra Stellam, and SAKS; curating industry-driven programming that brings real-world access to students.
Beyond campus, Mia was selected to support Glass Cypress at Paris Fashion Week, contributing to the brand’s global presentation and gaining international production exposure. She has also supported Petra Stellam on the production and creative side, further expanding her experience across emerging luxury brands. Additionally, Mia led the creative execution of “A Love Letter to the Vibrant Women Who Fill the Room” at GANNI Houston, taking a concept from vision to activation and showcasing student storytelling within a luxury retail space.
Through leadership, mentorship, and brand collaboration, Mia continues to position The Dress Code Club as a launchpad for emerging talent in luxury fashion.
Glass Cypress Partnership & Career PipelinE
Through our partnership with Glass Cypress, one of Houston’s leading luxury menswear brands, The Dress Code Club has created direct pathways into the industry. Members connected with the brand through on-campus events and networking opportunities, leading to internship placements and hands-on experience in luxury operations and production. Most notably, member Peter Tran secured an internship with Glass Cypress and was later flown to Paris Fashion Week to support the brand’s international presentation. Our founder, Mia Garcia, was also selected to attend and contribute to the Paris production — reflecting the level of industry access and trust built through the club’s relationships.
Arlo Espresso Club Partnership:

The Dress Code Club proudly maintains an ongoing collaboration with Arlo Espresso Club, a student-led coffee brand rooted in culture, wellness, and community impact. Together, we’ve hosted curated pop-ups, seasonal fundraisers, and limited-edition collaborations on campus blending fashion, design, and experiential branding with Arlo’s movement-driven mission. More than a coffee partnership, this collaboration reflects shared values: intentional storytelling, conscious ingredients, creative expression, and building community through experience. Each activation brings students together in meaningful, high-energy spaces that merge campus culture with brand innovation.
Dress Code Club & Petra Stellam Partnership & Creative Industry Exposure
Through its collaboration with Petra Stellam, Dress Code Club created a meaningful bridge between student creatives and Houston’s evolving fashion industry, offering members direct exposure to professional runway storytelling, design process, and creative execution. The partnership allowed students to engage with the brand beyond aesthetics, experiencing how concepts are developed into finished collections through craftsmanship, experimentation, and artistic vision. By bringing real industry voices into a campus setting, the collaboration strengthened the club’s mission of building pathways into fashion careers while inspiring members to think critically about design, innovation, and the future of luxury fashion
